2010: A Year of Dangerous Hopefulness
I’ve never been really good at New Year’s resolutions. Historically, I tend to resolve not to make any resolutions. Only once, in 2007 when I resolved to finally lose weight and get in shape, did I carry through. And honestly, … Continue reading

Advent Conspiracy Week 1: Worship Fully
Just like on that first Christmas, babies will be born this Christmas in huts and shacks into families that can barely feed themselves, let alone a newborn. It will happen in Liberia and Nicaragua. It will happen in Williamstown and Marietta. Herod won’t try to kill them, but diseases will. Lack of adequate healthcare will. Hopelessness will.

Something more important…
Sometimes it’s important to recognize when someone has something more important to say than what you want to say. I was going to post a new blog today, but after reading this over on the Burnside Writer’s Collective, I felt … Continue reading

To Write Love On Her Arms
Today is To Write Love On Her Arms Day. If you’re not familiar with TWLOHA, you’re missing what is in my opinion one of the most meaningful movements of the church in teen/young adult culture in a generation. The TWLOHA … Continue reading

Show me da money
It’s a trip. It makes the world go ’round. It’s what I want. Cash. Bread. Dough. Moola. Dinero. Pastor Steve’s recent sermon series on Generosity has got me thinking a lot lately about money. Not in the “love of it … Continue reading

Don’t eat dog vomit…
As a dog returns to its vomit, so a fool repeats his folly. (Proverbs 26:11) Another Creation Festival has come and gone. And, as always, there is much to process from an emotional and spiritual perspective. We often talk about … Continue reading

God bless us, every one. The most dangerous blog I’ve ever written.
OK, this little rant’s been building up for awhile. And it will probably tick somebody off. That’s really not the intent. And I hope if, once you start reading, you start getting angry or offended or whatever, you’ll stick with … Continue reading
